How Late Is Too Late for Caffeine?
There is no universal cutoff.
People metabolize caffeine at different rates, and sensitivity varies substantially from person to person.
But the basic principle is simple:
The higher the caffeine dose and the closer you take it to bedtime, the greater the potential for sleep disruption.
If you plan to go to bed at 10 PM, taking a high-stimulant pre-workout at 5 or 6 PM may not be a great trade.
You might feel more energized during your workout, but poor sleep can negatively affect:
